Regarding Peacefulness on Halloween

When you have stopped living a selfish life and have begun living fully and completely for Christ, there is a peace that reigns. Sometimes, it is the peace of a foggy morning, where even the wind is at rest. Perhaps, it is of a brook playing quietly over the rocks. Maybe it is of the quietly vibrant colors of a sunset, tickling at your eyes, relieving your heart of tears. It could be of the loving eyes of one who looks on you with no fear, peaceful and content simply to be in your presence. For some it is the simple sight of an open door to which they are not barred. For others it might be the child-like game of placing your foot wherever the Savior leads. For yet others it can be the baleful cry of a siren signaling “All is clear; be at rest!”

Father, lead us by Thy sight
To that place where all is right
Lead us to that golden peace
Found within Thy sure release

Christ always leads!

Even on Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

The Hands of Heaven

For the one expositing the full Gospel message, the writing of hymns is not a case of happy, happy, joy, joy, feel good, feel good, feel good! It is far more a case of speaking Truth to sin while praising God for conquering it. The hymn for today is in that vein. The one who claims Christ while trying to defend their “right” to live as they please, rather than for the purity of others around them is a liar and is bound for hell rather than heaven because they are living a selfish life and the life in Christ is not selfish.

The Secular Media and Deception as a Tool for Trumpeting False Ideas as Fact

There has been a controversy over some statements made by Pope Francis a few days ago, regarding Evolution and the Big Bang. The secular media has tried very hard to make it look like Pope Francis is trashing Intelligent Design while lending support to atheistic worldview assumptions that regularly get passed off as scientific theory and even fact.

Here, however, is what the Pope really said:

The Vatican’s Take

A Prayer for Love

Oh! How I cried as this hymn came forth, pouring from my soul—from its very depths! In the midst of my tears I stopped and prayed before embarking on the last two stanzas, begging God to finish the hymn with the needed answer. I know it’s long, but, if you want to know me, perform this hymn! Perform it in front of your youth group! Perform it in front of your singles group, if you’re brave enough to have one! Perform it in front of the entirety of your congregation, but perform it! Let it wrap itself around your soul to know the pain of those looked down upon in every church in this land, but perform it!

God Forgive America

A Prayer for America
I exhort, therefore, first of all, make without delay, supplications, prayers, intercessions,
thanksgivings for all men, for Kings and all those in authority.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2

God forgive America,
Homeland of my birth,
And revive her flagging soul
To receive Thy grace!
Once the land of freedom, bound
To Thy laws of faith,
Now, look on her sinful heart;
Cover not Thy face!

Driven now by wickedness,
Forging forth to hell,
Once she bore Your Word abroad
And that sword was fell!
Standing ’stride the raging path
Of despots from hell,
Now, blood fifty million strong
Bathes her soul in hell!

What moral imperative
Has, since, ferried her
O’er the judgment of Thy wrath
from erring to err?
Thinking herself good as God,
Guidance her has failed,
For she listens not to Thee,
But to errors hailed!

Turn her, Lord God, back to Thee,
Covered by Thy grace!
Riven on the cross for thee,
Look upon the face
Of the Lord God Jesus Christ,
Love upon His face,
And turn from your wickedness
By amazing grace!

Singing hymns you don’t believe,
Crocodilian tears
Skitter down your witheredness,
Shielding you from tears
Flowing from the victim hearts
Of your raging sin!
Turn, you, now to Jesus Christ,
Who beckons you in!

I shot this photo from the fourth floor kitchen, here at New Life. I have submitted it to KSDK as a weather photo, so keep an eye out to see if they use it.
